Sarah Pavelko and Billy Shuman are the brains behind Voigt’s Soda House.
What’s your business?
Voigt’s Soda House is an old-fashioned soda shop featuring craft sodas, classic favorites and coffee concoctions along with soups, salads and sandwiches.
Why are you proud of it?
We’ve worked hard to create a unique idea that will offer really delicious food and drink while creating a enjoyable destination. We have over 10 years of experience in cafe management, and we are eager to put our effort into our own endeavor. Also, we are excited to follow in the Voigt family tradition of entrepreneurship. The Voigts, Billy’s maternal side of the family, had the largest pre-prohibition brewery.
What’s your best advice for a fellow entrepreneur?
Talk to everyone about your idea because you never know what great connections you will make.
What local entrepreneur do you look up to and why?
Angelique Robinson of Treats By Angelique. She works full time, runs an amazing bakery and has built a loyal following in a short time.
What do you do when you need a mental break?
Add a large dose of gin to our sodas!
