The D-Venture entrepreneur-in-residence (EIR) program seats selected entrepreneurial-minded professionals to mine the underutilized and/or underdeveloped intellectual property (IP) developed within our city.
Each EIR will develop a business plan based on the IP; act as CEO of a company advancing the IP or technology; and then raise venture investments to advance the company. The program will support each EIR for six months to one year with an annualized salary of $60,000 per EIR.
D-Venture is a program of the Detroit Technology Exchange (DTX), a programmatic partnership between TechTown Detroit, Grand Circus, Invest Detroit and the Detroit Creative Corridor Center designed to recruit and groom talent for tech entrepreneurship opportunities and convert innovative technologies into Detroit-based startups. It is supported by the Michigan Economic Development Corp.’s Michigan Strategic Fund and the New Economy Initiative for Southeast Michigan.
