The D-Venture entrepreneur-in-residence (EIR) program seats selected entrepreneurial-minded professionals to mine the underutilized and/or underdeveloped intellectual property (IP) developed within our city.
Each EIR will develop a business plan based on the IP; act as CEO of a company advancing the IP or technology; and then raise venture investments to advance the company. The program will support each EIR for six months to one year with an annualized salary of $60,000 per EIR.
D-Venture is a program of the Detroit Technology Exchange (DTX), a programmatic partnership between TechTown Detroit, Bizdom, Invest Detroit and the Detroit Creative Corridor Center designed to recruit and groom talent for tech entrepreneurship opportunities and convert innovative technologies into Detroit-based startups. It is supported by the Michigan Economic Development Corp.’s Michigan Strategic Fund and the New Economy Initiative for Southeast Michigan.
