The Consulate General of Canada and TechTown Detroit to host Canada-U.S. Health IT Innovation Summit

 

WHAT:
The Consulate General of Canada and TechTown Detroit will host the first Canada-U.S. Health IT Innovation Summit in Detroit. The summit will be an opportunity to connect innovative Canadian health IT companies to U.S. investment, collaboration and growth opportunities, and to forge greater regional and cross-border collaboration in the health care fields. More than 125 representatives from major health networks, academic hospitals, health insurance companies, health IT system integrators, investors, researchers and consultants in metro Detroit and Canada will attend.

The summit is a part of ongoing efforts by TechTown and several partners to develop a regional, cross-border approach to health care innovation. Other aspects include an annual cross-border Hacking Health hackathon (held in Windsor this year, May 13-15) and a regional MedHealth Innovation Cluster, working to coordinate and advance new developments in health care delivery throughout metro Detroit and Windsor. Partners in the Cluster include Henry Ford Innovation Institute, DMC, Beaumont, UM Fast Forward Medical Innovation and many others.
