Phaedra Wainaina, JD., a serial innovator and a proud Detroit native, has exhibited a longstanding commitment to the city and its residents. Phaedra is a graduate of Renaissance High School (Detroit), the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and Wayne State University Law School (Detroit). Phaedra’s strong desire to serve is rooted in her belief that the social welfare of any community begins with service. Phaedra currently serves as the Program Manager for TechTown’s technology programs.
Phaedra is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and currently serves with the Detroit Alumnae Chapter. As a result of her commitment to progressive leadership and equity in workforce development, Phaedra was selected as a 2020 Aspen Institute Fellow. Phaedra currently serves as an advisory board member for Renaissance High School of Detroit, Jalen Rose Leadership Academy of Detroit, and Horizons Upward Bound of Bloomfield. Phaedra’s greatest role and accomplishment is being a mother to her daughter, Robyn.
