DESCRIPTION:In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month\, TechTown Detroit presents Latin-X-Tech! \nA free\, community-centered event highlighting the stories\, talents\, and impact of Latinx and Hispanic entrepreneurs in tech and entrepreneurship. \nLatin-X-Tech: Powering the Next Generation is a free\, community-centered event highlighting the stories\, talents\, and impact of Latinx and Hispanic entrepreneurs\, professionals\, students\, creatives\, and innovators in technology and entrepreneurship. Join us October 14 from 5:00–9:00 PM at TechTown Detroit for an evening of conversation\, connection\, resources\, food\, and community. \nThe main event is a three-speaker panel exploring one simple idea: There isn’t one way to build a career in technology. Our panel will bring together a founder\, software engineer\, and academia to discuss the different paths into technology and how we can make sure Latinx students and professionals can see themselves in all of them. \nTechnology isn’t just about building the next app. It’s about identifying problems\, understanding people\, building solutions\, and creating opportunities. We can build the technology\, research the problem\, start the company\, work inside the company\, support the people building it\, shape the community around it\, invest in it\, or lead it. There is more than one way to be part of the technology ecosystem. \nBeyond the panel\, attendees can connect with our local Entrepreneurship Support Organizations (ESOs) from across the community and discover resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
