Data is my core; building around it is my edge.
Apparently, because I’m an immigrant, I’m supposed to start with, “I moved to the United States to pursue my dreams…” So here it is. I came to Detroit, Michigan, to pursue my master’s degree, with two years of corporate experience from India, a tiny bit of confidence, and absolutely no idea how much I was about to learn. I started at TechTown as an intern and now work as a Data Analyst. I’m still taking baby steps, learning, asking questions, making mistakes, and growing every day. At TechTown, I get to work across CRM management, integrations, APIs, grant reporting, data quality, and cross-team collaboration, while exploring opportunities to build websites and expand my technical skills. I love that my role lets me work across different areas and keep learning along the way.
What drew me to data is that it goes far beyond numbers. Almost every invention, discovery, or idea starts with someone observing, asking a question, noticing a pattern, and wondering, “What if?” I love understanding those patterns, the stories behind them, and how much data we create and collect every day. I also love building things and exploring AI, machine learning, and software, especially when an idea can turn into something real and useful. Data is my foundation, and I’m excited to keep building on it.
Outside of work, I’m naturally curious and love learning random things just because they catch my attention. I also love listening to people talk about pretty much anything. If you ever have something random to say and just want someone to listen, I’m that person, even if I know absolutely nothing about the topic. I love traveling, going on trips, spending time with my people, and working out every now and then. After two years in the United States, Detroit has slowly become home, and I’m excited to give back to the community that has been such a big part of my journey while continuing to learn, grow, and take those baby steps forward.
