The Fall 2021 Start Studio Showcase streamed virtually on Wednesday, November 17, from TechTown Detroit. The showcase included pitch presentations from 10 innovative, tech-based businesses spanning from tech-enabled travel recommendations to a social media application curated for retail traders.
The Fall 2021 Start Studio Showcase attracted record numbers for People’s Choice voting and left the panel of experts, including leaders from Invest Detroit Ventures, EY, and Julian C. Madison Building, with hard choices to make. After months of diligent work and preparation for the pitch competition, TechTown Detroit is pleased to share the winners of the Fall 2021 Start Studio Showcase:
1st Place – $1,500

Stitch Fix for travel. On Arrival delivers a collection of the best recommendations personalized to each traveler for their upcoming destination.
2nd Place – $750
Teia Wallington, Co-Founder, Assistant For The Day
Assistant For The Day (AFTD) is an online platform that connects small business owners with vetted contractors and freelance talent that specialize in social media, graphic design, and administrative assistance. Assistant for the Day vets real people with real portfolios and real references.
3rd Place – $250
Karen Suber, Esq., CEO and Co-Founder, and John Giraldi, Ph.D., Co-Founder, Attune
Attune is a platform that produces “What’s Market” data for customary deal terms in mergers and acquisition (M&A) agreements. Our data empower M&A deal teams – including business development teams, investment bankers and lawyers alike – with the knowledge and information they need to better understand the M&A deal landscape and how that landscape shifts over time, all for the benefit of meeting the needs of their clients.

Social media application curated for retail traders, providing them with transparency and the ability to make better-informed decisions solely based on the trades and sentiments of other retail traders.
