Join us at Toast of the Town, TechTown’s annual celebration and benefit honoring Detroit’s community of innovators and entrepreneurs along with the role we play in strengthening our city, neighborhoods and economy. This year, we are celebrating our 20th anniversary of driving positive change in and around our great city.  

As we embark on our next chapter, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening that uplifts the power of innovation and honors Detroit’s vibrant community of risk-takers, community builders, trailblazers and economic drivers! 

The Salute Awards will take place in person at the Wayne State University Industry Innovation Center at 5 p.m., followed by a celebration of Detroit’s emerging startups and coolest small businesses from 6 – 9 p.m. at TechTown. 

Ticket Information

Entry Ticket: $25
(Admission only; does not include food & drink tickets)  

Entry Plus Food & Drink Tickets: $50
(Admission plus 10 food & drink tickets)    

All Access + Pay it Forward: $125
(Includes admission, unlimited food & drink tickets, and covers the cost of an entrepreneur’s ticket)   

Additional food & drink tickets can be purchased on-site. Food and drink tickets are valued at $2.50 each. Alcoholic beverages and signature mocktail: 2 tickets. Small plates: approximately 3-5 tickets each.

Salute Awards

Celebrate the 2024 Salute Award winners who fearlessly innovate and accelerate progress for an equitable economy and future for all. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and the ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. The Salute Awards will take place at the Wayne State University Industry Innovation Center. Admission is included with your purchase of a Toast of the Town ticket, though seating is limited and may be standing room only.

From 6 – 9 p.m., experience the best of Detroit’s up-and-coming business owners through immersive experiences, tech startup demos, displays from the trendiest independent retailers and tastings from food entrepreneurs spanning TechTown’s outdoor and indoor spaces.

Where is event parking?

Please plan to park in the TechTown parking lot at the corner of Cass Avenue and Amsterdam Street. 

What transportation options do I have?

TechTown and the WSU Industry Innovation Center are served by the QLINE Amsterdam Station, DDOT and SMART routes, and there is a MoGo bike share station at Second Avenue and Burroughs Street. Visit techtowndetroit.org/contact for more details. 

What is the dress code?

“Business fun” means there is no wrong answer! Layers may be helpful to ensure your comfort as you move between the indoor and outdoor event areas. 

How do I buy more food and drink tickets?

Food and beverage tickets can be purchased onsite.

Where do I check in at the event?

Event check-in begins at 5 p.m. on Burroughs Street between the TechTown Detroit building and the WSU Industry Innovation Center. From the TechTown parking lot, walk south on Cass Avenue and make a right on Burroughs Street. You’ll see a large tent! 

How do the "Pay it Forward" tickets work?

TechTown distributes approximately 100 complimentary tickets to the hardworking entrepreneurs that we serve each year.
