Carolyn Chin Watson is the Director of Marketing and Communication at TechTown and Wayne State’s Office of Economic Development. She aims for creative excellence, collaboration and high impact in all aspects of her work.

Her professional experience includes a background of 15+ years in communications, engagement, media, creative direction, fund development and nonprofit leadership. Carolyn has previously worked at the Detroit News, Hour Detroit, MCHS Family of Services and the Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation.

Carolyn is a proud Wayne State Warrior. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism as a graduate of the university’s Journalism Institute for Media Diversity.

When she’s not at home or working, you’ll find her indoor rock climbing/bouldering or dining out and about in the city’s excellent food scene. She enjoys traveling and welcomes new and enriching experiences.
